Regulation note

In the Netherlands, premium-rate and information services on 0900, 0906, 0909 and 18-numbers are regulated by ACM, which assigns these numbers, reviews applications for compliance with the Telecommunications Act, and supervises their use on an ongoing basis. Providers must disclose the per-minute or per-call tariff clearly to callers before and during use, and where a 0900- or 18-number costs more than 15 cents per minute they must set a maximum tariff per call; mandatory customer-service lines on such numbers must be offered free of the information charge. ACM can refuse an application or revoke an assigned number when tariff or conduct rules are breached, and consumers may withhold disputed information charges while complaining. General information, not legal advice — verify current rules with ACM.
