Under Peru's official numbering plan (RS 022-2002-MTC), the Serie 808 ("Audio Servicios de Valor Adicional") is reserved for premium-rate audio/value-added services that carry a special tariff ("tasación especial"). OSIPTEL's Norma de Condiciones de Uso de los Servicios Públicos de Telecomunicaciones requires operators to inform users, each time a Serie 808 (or optional special) service is accessed and before billing begins, of the applicable tariff and of the obligation to also bear the call-traffic cost — by voice locution for voice calls. Subscribers may request blocking of automatic access to Serie 808 services, and operators may never charge a fee for unblocking.
