In Singapore, premium rate services are regulated by the Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), which issued the Code of Practice for Provision of Premium Rate Services under the Telecommunications Act (Chapter 323, Section 26). Under IMDA's National Numbering Plan, premium-based and televoting services use the '1900' prefix, with each dialling number comprising 11 digits ('1900' access code plus a 7-digit virtual number), allocated by IMDA to facilities-based operators in blocks. The Code requires that advertisements not mislead and disclose the service description and a local customer-service hotline, with subscription services requiring SMS confirmation, periodic reminder messages, and a clear means to unsubscribe. General information, not legal advice — verify current rules with IMDA.
