Regulation note

In Taiwan the National Communications Commission (NCC) administers the telecommunications numbering plan, under which head code 020 is allocated to Premium Rate Service (PRS), with a total number length of 8 to 10 digits including the head code. Under the NCC's paid voice information service (0204) rules, an operator must use a free preamble of about 20 seconds to disclose the per-minute charge before billing begins. The NCC also caps such charges at a maximum of NT$100 per minute and NT$500 per call, with the call automatically disconnected once the per-call ceiling is reached to protect consumers. General information, not legal advice — verify current rules with NCC.
